About this Coffee
Black Ice comes from Julio Bastidas's Finca San Isidro Labrador in La Unión, Nariño, the same farm behind our washed La Union and honey Mara des Bois lots, this time a natural-processed Castillo.
Whole cherries rest through an extended 96-hour natural fermentation, building the dark fruit intensity and wine-like complexity that defines this lot.
The lot is named after Black Ice, a plum variety known for its near-black skin and deep, dark-fruited sweetness: a close match for the blackberry, plum, and prune notes that lead the cup.
