About this Coffee
Luis Carlos Gutiérrez runs the specialty side of his family's coffee production in Huila. He is not the landowner — his father is — but he is the one who took it off the commodity track: quality-driven processing, new varieties, small lots decided on the beneficio rather than at the coop counter.
This lot comes from Finca Bruselas in the Kennedy vereda near Pitalito, Huila, the same twelve-hectare plot behind our O'Henry natural — this time a washed Pink Bourbon.
Bergamot, this lot's name, is the citrus fruit behind Earl Grey tea — prized for its perfumed, orange-blossom aroma. It's a close match for the floral, black-tea, citrus character that defines the cup.
