About this Coffee
Black Ice comes from Julio Bastidas's Finca San Isidro Labrador in La Unión, Nariño — the same farm behind our washed La Union and honey Mara des Bois lots, this time a natural-processed Castillo.
Whole cherries rest through an extended 96-hour natural fermentation, building the dark fruit intensity and wine-like complexity that defines this lot.
The lot is named after Black Ice, a plum variety known for its near-black skin and deep, dark-fruited sweetness — a close match for the blackberry, plum, and prune notes that lead the cup.
